Every child and young person, whatever their financial situation, deserves the chance to take part and explore their passion.
In loving memory of Mia Craen
We fund kit, club fees, entry fees and travel for young people aged 5 to 18 in England and Wales, so money is never the reason they stop playing.

What we do
Mia wanted sport to be open to everyone, especially young people who could not otherwise afford it. That is the promise behind every grant we make.
Every child and young person, whatever their financial situation, deserves the chance to take part and explore their passion.
Sport builds confidence, team spirit and a sense of belonging, helping young people thrive and find their voice.
We uphold the values Mia lived by, inspiring and supporting the next generation of young sports enthusiasts.

Mia's story
Whatever the score or the weather, Mia gave her best, her enthusiasm infectious.
Mia was a goalkeeper for Horsham Hockey Club and Sussex County Hockey, raced with Horsham Triathlon Club and swam with Atlantis Swimming Club. In January 2021, aged just 18, she was taken from us in a road traffic accident.
Her family set up the Trust later that year, knowing how much sport gave Mia, and how much it can cost. It became a registered charity in March 2022.

Young people can apply themselves, or a parent, carer, coach or teacher can apply on their behalf. It takes about 15 minutes, and saves as you go.
Kit, club or membership fees, competition entries and travel all count. List each thing and roughly what it costs.
You get a reference straight away. If anything is missing, we ask in your account.
Volunteers who read every application. Follow its progress online at any time.
We pay the club or supplier, or arrange the equipment, so you can keep playing.
In their words
What Would Mia Do have been amazing and have allowed me to continue my passion for sports when I thought I was going to have to give up.
Playing sports was a dream I thought I'd have to give up on. Thanks to the What Would Mia Do Trust, not only did I get the chance to play, but I also found confidence, made lifelong friends, and learned the value of teamwork.
